INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

The city map of Cheongju

Meeting Venue

Cheongju is an inland city located 128km south-east of Seoul. Within 40km of its radius, there are neighboring cities such as Daejeon, Cheonan, Goesan and Boeun. In this area there are many historical spots and museums.

The city has a temperate continental climate showing four distinct seasons. The dry season and the wet season are clearly divided, so the summer has south-east or south-west hot moist winds, while the winter has north-west cold dry winds. Compared with other regions, the city shows comparatively big differences between the summer and the winter. However, the climate is quite pleasant with an annual average temperature of 11.6¡É, while the national average temperature is 11¡É. The annual rainfall is more than 1,200§®, most of which is between June and September. The city has comparatively less natural disasters, is equipped with an abundant water resources in the Daecheong Dam and has land available at low prices, so it provides ideal conditions for advanced industries.

Transportation

We are preparing the free-Shuttle from Incheon International Airport to Cheongju. It takes about 2 and a half hours by bus. Please let us know the time you will arrive at the Incheon International Airport when you register.

The Cheongju airport has opened on 28 May 1997 and functions as a central Korean area airport, a substitute airport in emergencies and the international cargo airport. It is also available for international and domestic line transfers. Especially for the Chinese passengers, the international flights between Shanghai and Cheongju, and Shenyang and Cheongju, are established.
